Description
According to a report from Japan’s Best Car, Toyota has begun development on the new hybrid powertrain for its commercial models and four-wheel-drives such as the HiLux and Prado, which will mate a diesel engine with an electric motor, rather than using a more common petrol-electric hybrid format.
The rumours suggest the next LandCruiser Prado will use a 2.5-litre diesel-electric hybrid, which is likely to be shared with the HiLux and HiAce.
